The Best Hot Cocoa Ever


A simple vegetarian recipe for hot chocolate that doesn't read "Add mix, add water, stir." This rich chocolatey hot cocoa will knock your socks off.

Start with cocoa and your sweetener of choice. I use Rapunzel cocoa and locally produced honey. Start with 2 tsp of cocoa and 1 tsp of sweetener - you can always add more of each.

Add about a pinch of salt, a splash of vanilla, and 1-2 tsp liqueur (if you are not using any liqueur, add 2 tbsp of the milk of your choice). Stick it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Then stir it until everything is dissolved.

Fill the mug with milk or soy milk, add any extras to make your cocoa exciting, and finish heating it.
