Apple and Brie on a Baguette

Simple vegetarian recipes like this one will make your omnivorous friends jealous. Apple and brie are an amazing flavor combination! Bring the ingredients to work and make your sandwich fresh at lunch while your buddies look on and drool.

Prep time: 10 min; Total time: 10 min

Ingredients

Cut your apple and brie into 1/4" thick slices. This sandwich tastes best if you eat it right after you make it. If you are prepping your sandwich to eat later, squeeze some lemon juice onto a plate (add water if you need to add volume) and soak each apple slice in the lemon juice on both sides to keep them from turning brown.

Slice the baguette down the middle lengthwise. Line one side of the baguette with a layer of brie. Add a layer of apple on top of the brie. Make a sandwich by putting the other baguette slice on top and enjoy!

Tips
You can use pear instead of apple or other cheeses instead of brie if you wish (try camembert, edam, gouda, or aged sharp cheddar).

To drastically vary this simple vegetarian recipe, use tomato and instead of apple. Add flavor with fresh basil or with dijon mustard, poppy seeds, and/or carmelized onions. If you try this, toast the sandwich in the toaster oven.

Serve this as an hors d'ouvre. Cut the baguette into small slices and serve the sandwich open-faced.
